Born to be Lighthouses

I have always been drawn to lighthouses, I really don't know why. Sometimes I think it's because as I was growing up I sometimes felt as though I was adrift in the midst a raging storm. The lighthouse came to serve as a symbol that I have people in my life who are safe and strong...people who send light. I recently came a across a quote by Robert Cooper that gave new meaning to my fascination with lighthouses. Mr Cooper said, "It’s easy to act as if you are a weathervane, always changing your beliefs and words, trying to please everyone around you. But we were born to be lighthouses, not weathervanes. Imagine a vertical axis running through the center of your heart, from your deepest roots to your highest aspirations. That’s your lighthouse. It anchors you in the world and frees you from having to change directions every time the weather shifts.
